How to Square the Robertson-Giuliani Circle

As I mentioned earlier today, Super Duper Uber-Wingnut Pat Robertson has endorsed Rudy Giuliani. This unfortunately is something of a coup in Republican primary politicking and I found it to be a surprise. Giuliani's biggest liability, besides being a megalomaniac (great mayor though), was his social liberalism. Thus, it was surprising when a man that attributed 9/11 to America's sins (I forget whether it was homosexuality or abortion or both). But James Joyner has figured it all out.

"God ordered the 9/11 attacks.
The 9/11 attacks helped revive Rudy Guilani’s stalled political career. _________________________________________________________

∴ God wants Rudy Guiliani to be president."

In the end, we are men and women. Regardless of political orientation and personal philosophy, we are vulnerable. As we consider our common humanity, we are struck by what unites us far more than what splits us apart. In the case of Robertson and Giuliani, we are talking about prostate cancer. The two chose different prostate cancer treatments: Dr. Robertson had prostate cancer surgery. Rudy Giuliani had prostate brachytherapy. Any man can have prostate problems. As these two prominent Americans have shown, be it by prostate removal or prostate cancer radiation treatments, you can beat prostate cancer, the most common cancer of men. When we work together, with the sensitivity and compassion that all patients deserve, everybody wins. These two men understand that.

I am sort of freaked out by the first comment. Very weird.
