Mason is considered a commuter school on account that the majority the student body does not reside on campus. Mason has housing, but again, many of them drive there. I think Mason houses 5,000 students.
While I thought Phoenix online university was a program soley based on the net, I have seen a bldg w/ the phoenix online logo. SO yeah, they're a commuter school.
Mason has about 30,000 students (though many of these are part time) but I would be surprised if there are more than a 1,000 that live on campus. Though that does appear to be changing rather quickly.
Did anyone else see the Slate.com article about George Mason? It parses the ways that Mason has made itself a good sports school as well as an excellent academic institution.

What is this about George Mason being a "commuter school"? Is Phoenix online University technically a commuter school too?

Weak sauce, PePers. This Minnesota expat counts on the site for MN politics and restrained midwestern irreverance.
Now what am I supposed to do, given the lack of new postings? Watch the Daily Show with the sound off?
